The Saline County Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol & Rescue Squad is an all-volunteer organization, which dates back to 1952. Originally The Sheriff’s Posse, our organization has now become the Search and & Rescue Unit for Saline County and surrounding areas. We currently have approximately 30 volunteer members of various backgrounds and disciplines from working with large animals, to emergency medical services to scuba diving and ice rescue, confined space, high and low angle rope rescue all in addition to being sworn deputy sheriff’s officers.
We search for lost children and adults, stranded motorists, rescue in floods, recover drowning victims, fleeing felons, assist in tornado disasters, large animal rescue, free victims trapped in vehicle accidents, patrol and crowd control on foot, ATVs and horseback.
Mission Statement: An organization of dedicated volunteers of varying skills and capabilities who are committed to be on the cutting edge of the best Search, Rescue and Recovery response tactics and resources possible, "That others may live".
Each year our rodeo hosts over 5000 spectators from all around the country out to enjoy a great rodeo and show their support for our organization. In addition to these attendees of the rodeo we always make sure to support those companies who support our rodeo first when it comes time for us to make purchases both for personal and organizational use. We also use these programs throughout the year handing them out at the county fair, the mall and anywhere that we can further educate citizens about what we do. If you would like to be a sponsor, please contact the Saline County Sheriff's Mounted Patrol & Rescue Squad at 1020 W. North Street, Salina, KS 67401 or call them at 785-825-1161.
All concessions are operated by us and all proceeds go to our organization. We are a non-profit organization and anyone can directly donate for a Tax Deduction.
