This year's theme is "We Are Not Invisible." The Salina Juneteenth Celebration starts out at 8am with an All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Feed until 10am for $3 per person at Martinelli's Little Italy, 158 S. Santa Fe. The breakfast includes sausage, juice and coffee.
At 10am, there will be a Salina Juneteenth Parade on Santa Fe from South Street to Elm Street featuring the Buffalo Soldiers Association and Horse Riding Team.
The City-wide Celebration begins at 11am at the Carver Center, 315 N. Second St. There will be a North Salina Scavenger Hunt ($500 cash & other prizes). A list of clues will be availabe at http://www.salinajuneteenth.org and other locations listed on the website on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 8am.
From Noon until 5pm, there will be Children's Games, Adult Games, Bingo, African American Trivia, Food Vendors, and Health Screenings including Blood Presure Tests and Health Literature.
More entertainment begins at 6pm with Poetry, Story Telling, Praise Dance, and Gospel Music featuring The Emporia Gospel Singers and Ministerio de Alabanza from Junction City, KS.
A Super 70's Dance Party sponsored by Kent North will be from 8pm-1am.
