Midsummer's Festival is a national Swedish holiday celebrated with Scandinavian food, live music, dancing, art, games and the raising of the Midsommarstång (Midsummer Pole). This festival, held to celebrate the beginning of summer, is one of the most popular of all Swedish celebrations, and Lindsborg is proud to host this fun-filled Swedish-American festival in the beautiful Riverside Park.
There will be live entertainment throughout the day, including a full slate of children's activities: a bouncy castle, mini-train, crafts, games, Glenda & Mike's Mysteries and Wonders Show, and more. Create a blomkran, one of the most important parts of the festival with the Lindsborg Arts Council. The Lindsborg Swedish Folk Dancers and the Folksdanslag will perform Scandinavian dances in Swedish costume. There will be plenty of opportunities for you to join in the dancing, especially around the Midsommarstång in Heritage Square. Food vendors will provide yummy treats and a beer garden will be available. Arts and craft vendors will be on hand as well. Live music during the day includes Sam Unruh, guitarist/soloist, and The OneMan Band, Dave Pickering. Admission is free to the festival!
Other Midsummer activities include The Midsummer's 5K/2 Mile Walk and the 4th Annual Kubb Tournament during the day. At 9:00 p.m. a free night swim and an evening concert with Hellcreek Bridge begin in Riverside Park.
