I will preface the review by saying I do not have a grandparent or parent who lives at this residence. I am a freelance videographer who was hired to do some filming of the property, but I was so impressed by the wonderful staff and look of the place that I had to write a review on here. I was greeted with tons of beaming smiles and saw nothing but laughter from the residents while I was there. I was even invited to work on a puzzle- something I probably haven't done in years. I arrived a little after breakfast, but whatever they had been cooking smelled delicious! I got a tour of the property and the look as well as feel of the place was like something out of a fancy hotel. The best part? The movie theater room...but I'm 100% biased given I'm a film/movie guy :) But everything from the backyard garden, sunrooms and library had me wishing I was ready to retire lol.
The one thing I wasn't really impressed with, was their use of their basement. IT'S HUGE! But I didn't really see a lot going on down there, but who knows maybe something will change.
I was told there'd be some new members added to the management team as well which is even more exciting to hear that they're a place that is always changing and improving the way things are done.
I'm not quite at that fearful age where I will have to be researching these kinds of places for my parents, but when I do, I will be coming back to Residence 600. It's that nice and it's the exact kind of community that keep my parents cared for active, and social. This place left that big of an impact on me.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Pat H.Salina, KS02Oct 14, 2022
We have lived here for just over a year and love it. The manager and her assistant are the nicest people, and the owner supports them in providing the best experience for all residents. There are activities almost every day. Residents volunteer to do weekly movies in the theater, others organize monthly craft groups in the community room and the owners provide a monthly budget for craft supplies. We have monthly birthday parties, monthly happy hour, and volunteers from outside come in to lead games several times a month. Groups go out for dinner and/or other activities. We like to joke and call them field trips. The apartments are spacious and comfortable. Cable tv and phones are included in the rent, and internet is provided at a small cost. We have two hours per month of apartment cleaning, which I love!!! There are no bugs but the entire building is sprayed monthly. We have weekly bible study and a fellowship group that meats twice a month. The library is beautiful and is a great space for card groups and other things like a place to play board games. A separate group meets in the health center for people with Parkinson's disease, which my husband has, so he can go there to exercise three times a week and not worry about driving to the gym. Speaking of driving, the manager and her assistant provide rides for residents as needed so car ownership is not needed. Those with cars have assigned parking under carports. The residents who live here are really friendly and we have a sense of community and look out for each other. It is so nice to have a maintenance man available as needed, we don't even have to change a lightbulb. He even helps move furniture and hang pictures. We feel spoiled!
